A few figures to begin with. 5 years ago there were not more than 100 million people in the world suffering such serious disease as bronchial asthma. In 2000 this figure is coming to 2000 million. According to WHO 5% of the grown ups and 10% of children of the world suffer bronchial asthma (BA). And the forecasts for the third century are not optimistic: the dynamics of BA development and a of number of chronic diseases as well is very gloomy. As a rule, in order to get the logics of this or that process one needs to answer a question: who will benefit from it? Let us try to do it without pretending to hear the truth from the last instance. So, the number of patients suffering BA increases and the income of the international pharmacological corporations that year after year extend the production of non-hormonal and hormonal preparations, the most well-known antiasthmatic preparations, increases. Hundreds of laboratories and medical centers worldwide develop new medicine, dozens of Institutes strive over BA mystery, thousands of doctors treat their patients, expand their practice…For many years the industry that is rapidly developing and brings great income to those involved herein, has been built up around the so-called “BA problem”. First and foremost, it’s the pharmacological monsters. As you know, medicinal business is highly profitable and can be combined with arms and energy resources traffic if not with drug trafficking. According to some sources, “ BA problem” costs about $50 billion a year. The companies that produce anti asthmatic preparations get exactly such a profit. The sum’s rather impressive, isn’t it? And it increases in direct proportion to the number of patients. Now, let’s assume that someone has developed BA treatment method which frees patients suffering BA from the life medicinal dependence, that is, saves them from glucocorticoid addiction for ever. There are two main variants of how not to lose the super income: the first one is criminal - to kill the author of the method. Another one is “civilized” – to create information gap around him, not to pay attention to him, to blame him for quackery and other antiscientific sins…Academic medicine treats bronchial asthma as genetically dependant, chronic, practically incurable disease. All antiasthmatic preparations presented at the pharmacological market are in their sense aimed against the effect – suffocation but not the causes of bronchial asthma. But not all the doctors agree with the official point of view concerning BA and the treatment methods of this illness.
